We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager / Procurement Expert with a strong background in IT Outsourcing within Financial Services to support a major banking client as an existing outsourcing agreement moves into a pre-deal / renewal phase.
This is a hands-on advisory and analytical role requiring someone who understands what makes a good outsourcing deal commercially and contractually. You will assess the existing agreement, identify strengths, weaknesses and opportunities, and help define what the deal should look like as it moves into its next phase.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate an existing major IT outsourcing agreement.
- Provide commercial, contractual and procurement analysis to determine whether the current arrangement represents a strong deal for the client.
- Identify opportunities for improvement ahead of the next deal phase.
- Advise on appropriate commercial structures, contractual terms, risks and procurement considerations.
- Support the client in defining what a strong future-state agreement should look like.
- Work with relevant stakeholders across procurement, commercial, technology and the wider business.
- Provide insight and challenge based on previous experience of complex, high-value IT outsourcing arrangements.
Experience Required
You will need a proven track record as a Contracts Manager, Commercial Manager or Procurement Specialist, ideally within banking or wider financial services.
Essential experience includes:
- Strong Financial Services / Banking experience.
- Significant experience in IT outsourcing contracts and procurement.
- Proven experience working with contracts valued at £5m+.
- Strong commercial and contractual analysis skills.
- Experience assessing existing agreements and shaping future deal structures.
- A strong understanding of what constitutes a commercially effective outsourcing deal.
- Experience with Application Development and Maintenance (ADM) outsourcing arrangements.
- Some exposure to IT infrastructure outsourcing would be beneficial.
- Ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and provide independent commercial challenge.
