Our prestigious client is looking for a Backend Developer to join a growing AI and automation team, building services and integrations across a complex enterprise environment.
Joining a small, collaborative engineering team, you'll develop Go microservices on a modern, cloud-native Azure platform. Your work will connect enterprise systems, automate processes and deliver practical improvements across the organisation.
The role
-
Design, build and maintain backend services, primarily in Go, with Python where appropriate.
-
Develop REST APIs, webhooks and event-driven integrations connecting internal systems and third-party platforms.
-
Contribute across the development lifecycle, from design and testing through to deployment and ongoing support.
-
Participate in code reviews, improve reliability and performance, and produce clear technical documentation.
-
Containerise and deploy services using Docker and Kubernetes, with support from the wider team.
What we're looking for
-
Strong professional backend development experience, with substantial hands-on Go expertise.
-
Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and working with event-driven architectures.
-
Familiarity with cloud platforms, ideally Azure, alongside Git, CI/CD and GitOps practices.
-
A commitment to clean, well-tested code and experience working within Agile teams.
-
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to technical problem-solving.
Experience with Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Grafana or OpenTelemetry would be beneficial. This is a hands-on backend development role; deep AI or LLM expertise isn't required.
Benefits include 30 days' annual leave plus bank holidays and a pension scheme.
