Contract Type: 12-Month Fixed Term Contract
Salary: £80,000 – £90,000 per annum

The Opportunity

We are working with a semi-public/private sector organisation operating within a highly regulated and governance-driven environment. They are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager to lead a critical 12-month programme focused on modernising and stabilising the infrastructure underpinning a mission-critical Workforce Management system.

A planned replacement of the central system has been paused, creating an immediate need to address significant technical debt across ageing hardware, legacy databases, and supporting applications. This role will play a pivotal part in bringing the infrastructure up to modern standards, ensuring resilience, stability, and long-term sustainability.

The Role

As Infrastructure Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a programme of infrastructure upgrades and improvements, including:

  • Modernising legacy hardware and database environments

  • Addressing technical debt across infrastructure and application layers

  • Improving system resilience, stability, and performance

  • Ensuring infrastructure aligns with governance and regulatory requirements

  • Coordinating cross-functional technical teams and third-party suppliers

  • Managing risk, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations

The system supported is business-critical and central to Workforce Management operations, so maintaining service continuity while delivering change will be essential.

About You

We are looking for a Project Manager with strong infrastructure experience and a solid technical appreciation of:

  • Hardware infrastructure upgrades and refresh programmes

  • Database modernisation (legacy to supported platforms)

  • Application updates and integration considerations

  • Delivering stability and resilience within complex IT estates

  • Working in regulated or governance-heavy environments

You will be comfortable operating at both technical and stakeholder levels, balancing strategic oversight with hands-on programme delivery.

Why Apply?

  • Competitive salary (£80,000–£90,000)

  • Mainly remote working with limited London office attendance (approx. 1 day per week)

  • Opportunity to deliver meaningful impact within a mission-critical environment

  • High-profile infrastructure modernisation programme

If you are an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager looking for a 12-month fixed-term opportunity with real strategic impact, we would be keen to hear from you.
