This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge integration and streaming technologies within a complex, large-scale environment undergoing significant digital transformation.

The Role

You will play a key role in designing, building and maintaining integrations between enterprise platforms, SaaS applications and operational systems. Working within a collaborative Agile engineering team, you will help shape integration standards, drive engineering best practice and contribute to the ongoing evolution of a modern integration platform.

This is a hands-on backend engineering role focused on event-driven architecture, integration services and scalable cloud-native development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop event-driven integrations and backend services
  • Build connectors, event-processing services and data pipelines
  • Design reliable event flows, schemas and integration patterns
  • Develop and maintain Change Data Capture (CDC) pipelines
  • Implement resilient integration patterns including retries, dead-letter handling and replay mechanisms
  • Contribute to architecture, engineering standards and code reviews
  • Improve observability through logging, metrics and distributed tracing
  • Containerise and deploy services using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Collaborate with developers, data engineers and technical stakeholders across the organisation

Technology Environment

You will gain exposure to a modern technical stack including:

  • Kafka / Redpanda event streaming
  • Docker & Kubernetes
  • Microsoft Azure
  • GitOps delivery practices
  • OpenTelemetry, Prometheus and Grafana
  • REST APIs and webhooks
  • CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code

About You

You will bring:

  • Strong commercial software engineering background
  • Building event-driven or integration platforms
  • Designing and building integrations between enterprise systems
  • Kafka, Redpanda or similar streaming technologies
  • Modern integration patterns and API design
  • Working within Agile development teams
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • A passion for engineering quality and continuous improvement

Desirable:

  • Go and/or Python development
  • Building CDC pipelines
  • Exposure to observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana and OpenTelemetry
  • Working with cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure
  • Working in regulated environments such as higher education, public sector, NHS or financial services

What's on Offer

  • Hybrid working – 2 days per week in the London office
  • Salary up to £60,900
  • Generous pension scheme
  • Excellent holiday allowance
  • Flexible working environment
  • Opportunity to work with modern cloud-native technologies
  • Collaborative and forward-thinking engineering culture

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Integration Developer who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and wants to help shape a modern integration capability within a large-scale organisation.
