Overview

Senior Project Manager – Social Housing Governance and Compliance. 
 
Location:                       Hybrid (Remote with occasional travel to London). 
Rate:                                Competitive day rate (outside IR35, depending on experience). 
Contract Length:        3 months initially. 
Start Date:                     Immediate. 
 
Are you an experienced Senior Project Manager with a solid background in governance, risk, and recovery planning within the social housing or housing association sector?  We&’re working with a housing association and we are seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead the creation and execution of a comprehensive governance plan to ensure regulatory compliance is met and maintained.   
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Lead the development of a detailed two-year recovery plan, including multiple iterations through to final sign-off. 
  • Own the plan and ensure all actions, milestones, and dependencies are clearly defined and met on time. 
  • Work closely with the Chief Risk Officer and executive team to ensure consensus and board-level approval. 
  • Support the CRO in presenting the plan to the regulatory body. 
  • Maintain oversight of project delivery, ensuring exact execution of planned actions and dependencies. 
  • Engage confidently and effectively with senior stakeholders and board members. 
 
Essential Skills && Experience: 
  • Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager within the social housing / housing association sector. 
  • Demonstrable understanding of housing governance and social housing regulation. 
  • Experience leading or contributing to recovery programmes and managing regulatory responses. 
  • Strong command of Microsoft Project Planner to manage detailed project plans. 
  • A natural facilitator, able to bring stakeholders together to reach consensus. 
  • Deep understanding of risk, governance, and compliance frameworks. 
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, particularly at board level. 
 
Additional Information: 
  • This is a standalone project but will sit within a wider programme of work. 
  • The role is hybrid, primarily remote, with occasional travel to London to engage with the executive team.
